Ibrahim Ashk was a poetic genius, best known for his contributions to Hindi and Urdu Literature.  He wrote more than twenty volumes of poetry published by various well-known publications of India, and more than 1000 ghazals penned by him were sung by various popular ghazal singers like Jagjit Singh, Chandan Das, Penaz Massani, Talat Aziz, Bhupinder Mitali, Pankaj Udhas and others. He was also a lyricist and wrote memorable lyrics for movies such as Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Krish, Janasheen, Black and White, Dus Kahaniyan amongst others. He received multiple awards and accolades in his lifetime, such as Ghalib Award, Meer Samman, Kalidas Samman, Majrooh Award, Kabir Samman among many others.
